World Health Debate
Just add air were commissioned to provide the complete production facilities to stage and record for broadcast on BBC Worldwide News, a discussion programme with a specialist panel and expert audience of 200. It was broadcast as the final episode in a series following eight international location documentaries produced by Rockhopper TV, on the topic of World Health.
The appointment involved the complete production design & realisation of the location panel and audience discussion show. This included set, tiered audience seating (to curve around the main set and to be featured in-vision), six cameras plus Jimmy Jib, complete TV lighting and sound equipment, Outside Broadcast production truck and a multi skilled crew of 40.
Just add air also undertook the production design and realisation of set, artwork and full height graphics printing. The client had chosen the venue for the recording to be the Great Hall at St Bartholomew’s Hospital in Central London – a listed building of architectural heritage and a working hospital with a busy emergency department. A venue not without its complications!
A complex operation, all executed in one full working day, where secrecy and security of the operation was a key component. As was maintaining, unhindered, the working hospital at all times.
