Mayor of London debate

Just add air were commissioned, for broadcast on Sky News, to provide the complete production facilities to stage a leadership debate programme in the run up to the 2008 Mayor of London election. There were also several event sponsors and clients. The appointment included complete production design & realisation of major LIVE broadcast with a venue audience of over 700.

The event was broadcast LIVE from a central London theatre venue. Additionally there was a behind-the-scenes and live analysis programme taking place on an overlooking balcony, separate from the main programme production, that was broadcast live on the “Red Button” interactive channel and on the internet. 

Although a relatively short notice production, Just add air’s role included providing complete pre-production services, as well as working with sponsors, clients and the broadcaster to select the venue. On the single production day we facilitated a seven camera production, including Jimmy Jib and Steadicam, complete TV lighting and sound equipment, outside broadcast production truck and crew of 30.
