Just Add Air have produced a series of 14 back to back LIVE high profile press interviews with Simon Cowell from his home for international broadcaster Fox TV Channels across America. The commission, in conjunction with Mustard Links, included crew of camera, sound and lighting equipment specialists with connectivity for immediate broadcast via satellite to the various channels.


“It is common on corporate and public sector commissions for Just Add Air crew to operate under non-disclosure agreement to maintain privacy and security”.

World Economic Forum, Davos

Specialist international business news channel CNBC commissioned Just add air production services for their debates, setting the agenda at the annual World Economic Forum held in Davos, Switzerland, January 2011.

Three programmes were staged and recorded for later broadcast: 2 breakfast events, located at the prestigious Belvedeve Hotel, and a landmark debate, “The west isn’t working”, presented by Maria Bartiromo, in the main Congress Centre in front of an invited audience of 450.

Tony Blair / Christopher Hitchens BBC religion debate post production

 Just add air production support services were commissioned for the post production edit for the high profile BBC religious debate between Tony Blair and Christopher Hitchens, held in Toronto, Canada.

The role comprised coordinating the technical production in Canada from the UK, then using the complete ISO recordings and in consultation with the Executive Producer and BBC Commissioning Editor, editing to BBC broadcast standards, a 47 minute programme for international broadcast, plus further versions for regional variations, and online clips.

Debate event with international speaker live via satellite video

Utilising satellite video connections Just add air technical production services created a cross Atlantic event in front of a live London audience. The six speaker Intelligence Squared event necessitated a  US/UK crew involving satellite truck, audio visual specialists, multi-camera production, and separate sound mixed in this cost efficient and effective production for both venue participation as well as web & archive enjoyment.

Lords reform debate, December 2010Just add air was commissioned by BBC Parliament and BBC Democracy live to stage and produce coverage of a high profile, public debate on the much discussed topic of reform of the House of Lords.

The event was held in the Paul Hamlyn Hall (The Floral Hall) of London’s world famous Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, in front of an audience of approximately 400, many of whom were members of the House of Commons and of the House of Lords. It was first broadcast on 5th December 2010, with multiple repeats thereafter over the festive season.

Speaking for the motion, that “An elected House of Lords will be bad for British democracy”, were Vernon Bogdanor, Shami Chakrabarti and Sir Simon Jenkins. Speaking against were Lord Adonis, Polly Toynbee and Billy Brag. The Chairman was Nik Gowing.

This production used the Royal Opera House’s HD production gallery and cameras with the JAA team on cameras, sound, staging and production. Subsequently JAA had a post production role with full editorial direction, before handover to the BBC for broadcast and publication.
