Richard W Collins

Richard began his broadcasting career joining the BBC as a direct entry from school, whereupon he moved up to Greater Manchester, attending the University of Salford studying Broadcast Engineering. Whilst studying he also undertook further applied training from the Corporation and continued to work in London at the Televisoin Centre and in the Parliamentary Unit at Milbank. Once trained, qualified and working in engineering across the BBC’s London television operations Richard was to further develop core skills, working at practically every level of professional broadcasting, including production and technical disciplines, from the studio floor through to network transmission. Upon leaving the corporation it was these operational areas that Richard focused on, culminating in what is now a highly successful business, Just add air.
As Just add air evolved, Richard, with his entrepreneurial approach and enthusiastic attention to detail, soon received commissions with key roles as project & team manager, event & production coordinator, as well as his regular work as a skilled television lighting cameraman. As a consequence the business rapidly developed to where Richard now leads and directs productions on both live & recorded programmes and events, including for the BBC, ITV Productions, BSkyB, CNBC, as well as for major public sector corporates and leading event producers.
Richard directs the creative, production and technical aspects of Just add air.
